Modern Spring Elopement at Notre Dame Cathedral

Cherry blossom season in Paris is a romantic time of year when the whole city feels like it’s smiling back at you. It’s when couples everywhere flock to elope and is marked in calendars worldwide as a European wedding destination. But for the team involved in this styled shoot it’s left a mark on their hearts for a different reason.

Photographed by Daria from Paris Happy Pictures, this spring inspired shoot was set on the grounds of the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral on the same day it was severely damaged by fire. One year on, we share the images her lens captured embodying the grandeur of the Cathedral, the beauty of the Parisian city and the pure elegance and styling of this elopement.

BRIDES WILL LOVE

Her golden dress with a medieval edge by Point G Lingerie, flawless hair and makeup by Liubov, the invitation suite by Ivy Cousin with her artistic hand focusing on the historic Notre Dame Cathedral, and their cherry blossom inspired cake from Cakes by Meri.

The ceremony was held in the picturesque courtyard of the Notre Dame Cathedral as civil services are not permitted inside the church. Pastor Michelle from Ruffled by Grace officiated and quotes, “Ceremonies are the very best when they are personalized and ‘tailored’ to fit the couple. Your day is yours. With all the abundance and blessings from above, this moment belongs to you. My hope for every couple is that they can claim their wedding day the same way they have claimed their love story. My job is to help make that happen.”

The reception was held on the banks of the river Seine with the Notre Dame Cathedral in eyes view making it the perfect setting for the post nuptial celebrations. The table styling by Kahina Events brings an elegant yet minimal style which doesn’t feel overdone but rather complements the surrounding landscape.
