Our Love Story

Joseph and I met on a late summer night in our hometown with some of our best friends. I had just turned 19 and he was 20. He still tells me to this day, "I can't explain it, but right when I saw you, I knew I had just met my wife." Late summer hangouts slowly turned into movie nights and dinner dates. After a few months, Joseph wanted to make things more "official." He took me to San Francisco one day and asked if I would be "his girl" at the Japanese Tea Garden, followed by a fun day exploring Golden Gate Park. Little did we know, this city would become so special to us, because come four years later, we would also be getting married here.

The Proposal

Joseph popped the big question on March 27th of 2015. He took me to the Davenport ocean bluffs around late evening. We climbed up the bluffs and set up a little secluded spot overlooking the ocean. For about an hour, we just talked and enjoyed the view as the sun started to set. All of a sudden, we spotted dolphins jumping in the ocean! It was just a little too perfect. Just before the sun left us, Joseph got on his knee, and after the most heartfelt words he's ever said to me, asked if I would be his wife. Of course I said, "yes," after wiping away the tears. We watched the rest of the sunset and soaked in our special moment. The night ended with phone calls telling family and friends our exciting news, and a romantic dinner.

Our Wedding Day

Joseph and I got married on a Monday morning in San Francisco. We had an intimate wedding with our immediate family and dearest friends. We stayed at this beautiful hotel down the street from city hall, where we had our ceremony. With having an intimate wedding, I absolutely loved how relaxed everything was; this allowed us to cherish every little moment without the chaos of a big event. Our friends and family circled around us during our short, sweet ceremony. It was blissful, simple, and perfect - and, needless to say, San Francisco City Hall is just stunning. When we finally kissed, we suddenly heard a thunderous applause, looked over, and saw an audience of people surrounding us! It was such a surprise and so sweet that they were complete strangers cheering us on. We definitely felt the love! Later that weekend, we had our Happily Ever After party in our hometown to celebrate with the rest of our families. This is where we had our first dance, toasts, and cake cutting.

Best Memories

My favorite part of our wedding was this very special gift my mom gave me at my bridal shower. It was a pin with unique charm representing family members who had passed away. I pinned this on my bouquet, so that they were with me during our special day.

Special Thanks

Our special thank you, first and foremost, goes to my mom, who put so much love and thought into every little detail that made our day so wonderful. Secondly, my maid of honor was amazing in every way. From thoughtful surprises in the mail to her endless support, I appreciated every last thing she did. Lastly, we want to say a huge thank you to our friends who threw us a surprise party bus night around our hometown. We had so much fun and we will never forget that amazing night.
