This 70's inspired wedding shoot embodies individualism with cross over elements to shoulder eras including the 60's and 80's. Styled with a colourful palette of pinks, mustard and orange hues, it’s ready to inspire those wanting to ‘rock your own wedding style’. Think disco balls, blue eyeshadow, paisley prints, pink champagne and bright confetti and you’re getting close to the splendour of this unique shoot!

Set at Hidden Haus in Perth’s southwest, this industrial venue has been transformed into a 70's haven. The layers of styling and colours fill this shoot with warmth and makes it so exciting to look at, you discover more every time.

Wedding stylist Poppy and Posy have chosen accent pieces like rattan occasional furniture and floral tableware to create a space that is reminiscent of the era with touches of the 60's flowing through. The grazing table by Forage and Fromage has been set up as a delicious antipasti with cheeses, perfect for an intimate wedding.

The gold drinks trolley hosting champagne topped with fairy floss gives it an edge of glamour that we can’t get enough of! The wedding table styling includes orange floral crockery and gold accents as seen in the candlestick holders and napkin rings with an imperfect aesthetic that is truly fitting for this shoot.

We Love: The bride's ‘dare to be different’ wedding look with her mustard wedding dress, dramatic blue eyeshadow and a touch of the 80's white boots. The pink florals are a delight that pop against her dress and the gem-coloured velvet lounge.

Concept design and photographer, Teagan from O’Brien Originals said: “When I saw the mustard dress from ASOS, I knew I had to shoot it. I adore changing people’s perceptions of what a wedding is ‘supposed’ to look like and really stripping it back to the bare basics and building from that, based on personalities and style rather than a checklist.

With the craziness of our least favorite 'C' word, our message of ‘love isn’t cancelled’ was the inspiration while giving funky and vibrant alternatives to plans that may not be able to go ahead as we anticipated. My photography style is aligned with this message and I’d describe it as portraits with punch which tend to be more on the lively side of things. Real expressions and emotion are what I aim to capture.”

The 70's wedding invitation suite by Peache Wolfe delivers that iconic funky retro typeface along with the pink, mustard and orange hues that are consistently seen throughout the shoot.

Honeybunch Botanicals have used pink as their base colour where the different shades pop so well against some of the gem-coloured styling features. Their bouquet includes pink hydrangea, red roses, pink ranunculus and you’ll find pink phalaenopsis featured among other flower arrangements.

The bride's braided hairstyle by Jess Avery Hair Artistry and makeup by Narissa Make-Up Artistry have worked well to create a cohesive ‘dare to be different’ bridal look that suits the bride perfectly.

Jesse Burford initiated the ceremony with real life couple Harry and Renee and you can just see how much love and fun has been captured behind the lens by Teagan. Her parting advice to couples looking for a photographer is:

“To find the right wedding photographer you HAVE to do your homework, research and NEVER assume. I believe the personality of your photographer, and how they make you feel is just as important if not more than their style or investment level. It really does depend on what you prioritise as a couple and what's important to you.”

This 70's wedding inspiration has been so much fun to publish. Special thanks to Teagan and the creative vendors for sending it our way with the message of “love isn’t cancelled.”
