Northern Haus located in Door County, Wisconsin is a new modern farmhouse to hit the wedding scene. Set on a picturesque 30 acres, you’ll love its stunning features and every amenity you could wish for. From the long sit-down bar, to the private bridal rooms and the expansive kitchen ready for your own choice of caterer to waltz in for your wedding day.

Head into the main barn and you’re sure to feel those butterflies in your stomach! The large space is graced by two black tiered iron chandeliers set among clean white cladding, lofty ceilings and up lit exposed beams. Owners Sarah and Nick have poured their hearts into this space to make it a unique experience for their guests.

Fun Fact: Northern Haus is a new wedding venue in Sister Bay, WI and due to Covid-19 had not had any real weddings in the space before the styled shoot. The creative team were thrilled to use a blank canvas and make it come to life - with a fun-loving and genuine couple!

Wedding Planner and Stylist Wed and Willow have thoughtfully merged organic styling with an eclectic vibe nailing the overall concept and incorporating the bride and grooms’ own natural style.

With romantic touches throughout like the antique coloured roses and ethereal wedding dress, this shoot demonstrates how you can mix varying styles to create a wedding that truly reflects you. Though not always easy to achieve, the creative team have pulled it together so cleverly and said: “The best part about doing this shoot was all the vendors working together. Each and every one of us brought our own artistic flare to the shoot. We all love seeing creativity bloom and working with people who thrive on artistic endeavours!”

As you journey your way through the photos, you’ll appreciate how the styling consistently flows from each scene using a balance of tones and textures. From the table runner, placemats and macramé pieces supplied by Kindred Rentals to the wedding flowers by Native Sage Co that form the colour foundation for the whole shoot.

The wedding palette brings warmth with hints of gold, burgundy, terracotta and timber elements. Soft pale purple and a rust-brown toffee contrasted with deep reds of the smokebush foliage give it depth and balance.

Complementing the natural palette, Olivia from Liv and Remember has gloriously captured the shoot giving homage to the overall aesthetic. Describing her photography style as earthy, intimate and genuine she said: “We focused on an intimate experience true to the couple’s vibe and style. I love to create an unforgettable experience for my couples full of lots of love and laugher. My focus is creating beautiful images while having a good time by making a stress-free experience!”

We Love: The intimate photos in the field, the organic dried hanging florals that create a unique backdrop, the brides ethereal wedding dress paired with the groom’s burgundy suit and of course the bride’s bouquet which has been well balanced between colour and texture taking us back to another era!

If celebrating your nuptials outdoors is on your wish-list, the private forest retreat accessed by a winding path from the main farmhouse could be the perfect spot. Surrounded by tall perennial trees, the elevated stone platform and timber arbour are ready to transform into your own. You’ll love the privacy and surrounds with seating for up to 300 guests.

Beyond this majestic hideaway, you’ll have access to the prettiest outdoor fields, and we are obsessed by the warm photos. They are playful yet soft and we adore seeing this real-life couple enjoying their private little moments together.

Playing with the earthy palette, Native Sage Co have delivered an eclectic array of florals from the stunning choice of bouquet flowers including amnesia rose, toffee rose, smokebush and plumosa that meticulously flow through to the ceremony floor backdrop under the arbour.

The Dress: Can we take a moment to admire the brides romantic Armeria wedding dress by Alёna Leena Bridal (supplied by Strike Bridal Bar). It’s soft yet feminine features include a delicate crinoline bustier, a modern geometric cut-out décolleté and whimsical off the shoulder bell sleeves. It fits into the shoot styling beautifully adding that romantic, ethereal element and had us heart-eyed from the moment we saw it!

Lastly, we asked Wed and Willow to share some advice about setting up a styled wedding shoot:

“Due to Covid-19, we all had to change up the way we all planned for this shoot. We did virtual vendor meetings and tried to stay positive and optimistic! Good energy plays a huge role in your outlook on life and work.  Also, make the day uniquely special for the couple - full of small details and elements that speak to them. Lastly, use a wedding planner! It makes everything go smoother and allows you to enjoy your day while not leaving small/large tasks unattended to. It makes an enormous difference!”
