If you’ve been dreaming of a fairytale wedding, you’ll love this Romantic Wedding Inspiration at the regal 19th-century French Château Bouffémont. Photographed by fine art wedding photographer Daria Lorman, you’ll want to pin every image to remind yourself you’re not too grown-up to get the romantic wedding of your inner fairytale princess.
Emmanuel proposed to Johanna on his birthday on November 22, 2018. He and Johanna’s best friend planned the surprise engagement at a Parisian palace.
Johanna said: “I didn’t know my best friend and the hotel were in on the proposal. We celebrated his birthday which turned out to be one of the best days of our lives. I was amazed to discover the beautiful surprise after dinner and was able to celebrate with my extended loved ones who hid on the balcony.”
Johanna and Emmanuel celebrated their French-Cameroonian wedding at Château Bouffémont in 2019 because of its romantic fairytale style that perfectly matched the couple’s story. A year later the couple were excited to return to celebrate their first wedding anniversary and this time, Johanna wore a stunning Berta wedding dress fit for a princess.
WE LOVE: The idea of celebrating your first wedding anniversary by re-imagining your wedding day in the place where it all began.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they were unable to hold a larger event, so they opted to have a romantic micro wedding celebration and called Daria Lorman to capture it all. The intimate nature of their micro fairytale wedding is portrayed beautifully through the fine art photography and the grandeur of the French Château.
Château Bouffémont has a sweeping outdoor staircase and large windows that created the perfect backdrop for showcasing the bride’s gorgeous Berta wedding dress and cathedral cape. The bride wore elegant Chanel pearl drop earrings that drew the eyes down to the delicate lace detailing on the bride’s gown and to the Jimmy Choo bridal shoes finishing off this luxe bridal look.
Can't get enough of: The bride’s tulle Berta cape which makes Johanna look every part the fairytale princess that perfectly matches the romantic French Chateau.
Kahina Events contributed the fine-art unstructured bridal bouquet. Johanna chose white flowers that match the color of cotton because cotton is the french first-year wedding anniversary symbol. The white flowers complemented the chateau’s elegant garden, which was in full bloom.
Emmanuel perfectly portrayed Prince Charming with his white brocade-inspired coat jacket that had large silver buttons fit for royalty. He also sported a matching white vest and a boutonniere with matching white flowers to the bouquet. He and Johanna both wore wedding rings from Tiffany & Co and Johanna’s engagement ring is by Cartier.
Johanna’s hair and makeup were styled by the bride herself under The Mary Closet. She chose long, curled waves to complement the fairytale elements in her romantic wedding photoshoot.
Emmanuel and Johanna were able to relive their favorite memories from their wedding while drinking Ruinart champagne in the Grand Salon. They now have new memories of their first wedding anniversary with their favorite photographer at their forever special Château Bouffémont.
Thank you, Daria, for sharing this gorgeous first year wedding anniversary photoshoot to remind couples that it’s never too late to have your romantic fairytale wedding.
