Nothing screams summer in the Mediterranean more than the vibrant colours of bougainvillea in Santorini. If you’ve been fortunate enough to visit, you’ll know how special this island is. With its barren landscape, volcanic formations and quaint pathways wedged between its white-washed buildings, it’s one of the worlds most iconic postcard destinations and wedding hot spots.

Alexandra of Gold Weddings Santorini felt inspired by the colours of a greek summer which led her to create this Vibrant Bohemian Santorini Wedding Inspiration. Her goal was to deliver an alternative small-scale wedding incorporating ideas that are bold and beautiful which can be applied in any wedding location.

Although we can’t literally be there due to COVID-19, we can be transported to this idyllic haven through the stunning photography by Kimon Kaketsis – a local photographer and storyteller shooting intimate moments for adventurous couples.

Set at the iconic mills at El Viento in Megalochori Village overlooking the glistening Mediterranean Sea, this location offers an intimate setting perfect for a micro wedding, elopement or even a romantic proposal spot.

Pink and purple wedding flowers are the ultimate summer combo and the floral wedding arbour styled by Maria's Flowers Santorini is the showstopping piece and amongst the most impressive we’ve ever seen!

Bougainvillea is the feature floral used with roses, mini roses, lisianthus, ficus, jasmine and eucalyptus. Maria’s Flowers Santorini have also used natural and dyed pampas grass accents giving it that boho touch to the overall colourful display.

Fun Fact: The bright colour of the bougainvillea is the leaf that attracts the bees to find the tiny white flower buds inside.

The bride wears a playful wedding dress by Lynnes World featuring a pleated free flowing overskirt giving it that young and fun vibe and we love how it’s been paired with metallic silver stilettos, naturally moody bridal makeup by Makeup Santorini and an elegant wedding hairstyle by Marianna Nomikou to complete this bridal look.

The soft grey-blue bridesmaid dress by Kates Dresses offer a versatile option for bridesmaids with multi-way styling options. We love how the dress has been styled in the one shoulder grecian design as the colour mimics the backdrop of the ocean.
