We were high school sweethearts, together for 8 years and friends for many more. Despite different personalities, we complimented each other and shared similar dreams for the future. We shared lots of great experiences and memories as a couple before becoming engaged, including study, travel, friends and buying our first home together.
Knowing that I would guess what he was up to if he set up a romantic evening or big gesture, Aaron completely surprised me by proposing at home, on a regular Friday night as I was getting ready to go out with girlfriends. After of course saying 'yes', we celebrated with a romantic dinner and champagne.
Our wedding day was a perfect spring day in November. We chose to get married back at Cabra Dominican College, where we first met, which was very special. We were surrounded by our families and friends, and were overwhelmed when walking back down the aisle as newlyweds and seeing so many people there for us. The reception was a wonderful way to relax and celebrate, and the gardens and sunset at Carrick Hill were the perfect backdrop for some beautiful photos and memories.
Both of us remember seeing each other for the first time at the church as I walked down the aisle. I remember Aaron getting emotional and he remembers me grinning from ear to ear.
All our family and friends - the day was made special because they were all there to share it with us.
