The Wedding Day

“We may not have it all together, but together we have it all – Potremmo non avere tutto insieme, ma insieme potremmo avere tutto.” Our first wedding of 2017 started as our last wedding of 2016 ended: with a big bang! And what a wedding! We can’t thank Vashti and Vito enough for choosing us to be a part of their incredible celebration of love. Having travelled extensively together and coming from different backgrounds, they were joined by family and friends from Italy, United States, England and various places around Australia. They wanted to have a very unconventional wedding day. We had the pleasure of celebrating the official ceremony at the Old Treasury Building in Melbourne's CBD, where only the very close family members and friends witnessed the signing of the official forms. But this couldn’t pass without a lot of fun. Vito was not able to repeat the sentences from the celebrant without having to ask again. He just had eyes for his beautiful bride and was purely speechless. But we had fun and he clearly enjoyed the moment too, being the happiest person in the world. A few days later we joined this truly loving couple for their big celebration with all their close family members and friends in Curlewis, near Geelong. They chose One Day Estate, a beautiful winery on the Bellarine Peninsula as they where able to decorate and use it as they wanted, without any annoying restrictions. They could also bring their own food supplier, which was provided by Pantry Brighton where Vito works. So he was sure, there would be plenty of good food for everyone. As we drove down to the Bellarine Peninsula, they sky was blue and the forecast was set for a hot 37 degrees. Fortunately, some clouds formed to create a bit of a background for the photos, but the heat remained throughout the day accompanied by a little afternoon breeze. The so called "Kombi Karma" (the owner of the Kombi said he'd never had any bad weather so far for his weddings :)) The bride and groom got ready at individual houses near Ocean Grove, not too far away from each other. While Marco was joined Vashti for the preparations, Kate went to Vito. Vito and his groomsmen got picked up by the restored VW Kombi, provided by the driver Matt from Coastal Kombi Weddings, who did an excellent service. After bringing the groom to the ceremony venue, he returned to pick up the bride. We witnessed a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by the wine of the estate on one side and the venue on the other. The ceremony was held in English and Italian, so that all guests could understand and enjoy it. It was touching to follow the emotions the couple went through, even though they were already officially married at the registry. Following the ceremony, we drove with the beautiful old Kombi and used the surroundings and the van for our portrait photos. After returning to the venue, the reception celebrations began. To witness the bonding of these two families and their friends was incredible, bringing tears to ours eyes. We are grateful for such an amazing day and couldn’t have asked for any more. Thanks Vashti & Vito – we wish you all the best for your future together! “La carità è paziente, è benigna, La carità non invidia; La carità non si vanta, non si gonfia, non si comporta in moda sconveniente, non cerca il proprio interesse, non s’inasprisce, non sospetta il male, non gode dell’ingiustizia, ma gioisce con la verità; soffre ogni cosa, crede ogni cosa, spera ogni cosa, sopporta ogni cosa. O dunque queste tre cose durano: fede, speranza, carità; ma la più grande di esse è la carità.” “Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion on itself, love has no pride. Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil. It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true. Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping in all things. But now we still have faith, hope, love, these three, and the greatest of these is love.”

" For Marco and Kate photography is not just a profession, but also passion! I have been following them online for 1.5 years and admired their photos from the very first time. They have their own unique style and at the same time take such special photos on each occasion. When shooting my wedding it was just incredible how they were able to capture the magic of the moment - just as real as it felt for us on the day. "
